John Alexander "Bad Dog" McCormack, died on
Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Methodist University
Hospital after an 18-month battle with leukemia.
Bad dog helped raise money for Children with
cancer. He did this while fighting a battle himself.
That made him an angel among us. "Laughter is
the best medicine." He healed us all with his
infectious humor. His humor and spirituality are
deeply missed.

Wes was a good friend of mine for several years before he died a couple of years ago. He was an
amazingly talented and beautiful person while alive, but I believe he is an angel for me NOW. I have
had an unbelievable amount of good fortune, almost immediately since he has passed. Everything
good that has happened to me runs parallel to what he knows have been my dreams and desires. I
strongly feel his presence and know in my heart and soul that he is making sure I am happy.

Mary Elizabeth Saucier Gipson,
"Macy" was my granny, well not by
birth. Mom and she met at work and
became instant best friends. At some
point, Macy became mom to my mom.
She adopted us as her own. She lived
the book of Ruth. She gave food to
poor coworkers when she didn't have it
to give. Always believing her needs
would be met. She took in people who
had lost their home. That's what I call
an angel among us.

This is my wonderful Daddy! We were
very close all my life. He was funny,
fun, and always had time for me and
my friends. He taught us to jitterbug,
waltz and play Rook till all hours on
Friday nights after he had just come in
off the road all week working. Now he
comes and stands by my bed and we

My late aunt, Juanita, thought that her life didn't matter to many people. She
never had children and had only a handful of friends. When she died all 200
members of her company went to the service. We donated her organs and she
saved 7 lives. Dozens benefited from her gifts. The Gov. Of Wisconsin gave us
this medal on her behalf. I want all of you to know that the gift of life is the most
precious gift you can bestow. We received a letter from one of her recipients. He
promised to take good care of the Kidney that Nita gave him. That impacted my
life knowing that my aunt saved this young man's life. She never knew how
many people she would affect in a positive way. I know this is what made her an
angel among us.

Days after his passing - he hung on to life until January of 2000, just to see the new millennium - he appeared to
my oldest daughter in the image you see here: the gorgeous Marine in the middle. But he was 84 when he passed,
and Melissa had never seen this picture. She came to me in the kitchen and said, "Grandpa's in the garage. But
he's a 20-year-old Marine." Dad never grew up, and he passed his unending youthful joy and energy to me. He
has appeared to us several times since. In this life he was charming, the best dressed among men with impeccable
fashion sense - he shopped for me when I was a girl - a talented musician and vocalist by ear, an unlikely Marine
and a whimsical but always successful salesman. A flawless sniper who hated guns. A man who might have lived
a very different identity today, but instead judged no one then, or now. I'm thankful every day that he still walks
with me.

My dad was an angel because he was the only
one to make me happy. When I was 6, he
used to give me ladybird chocolate and ask
what my name was. I replied "Marie Kefer."
when he died lots of ladybirds kept appearing
in my garden he
was a good man and well loved. Smart at a
young age. He knew to draw like an adult and
talk
strange languages to my grandmother or
walk the whole city asleep at night was
no man like him in city Moura Portugal. But
one day his greatness fell, he
started with mental health probably since he
divorced. Spent a lonely life until he
died.  Angels know so did he. I am proud of
my dad, to me he has always been
great even the days he wasn't himself and
miserable. That's forgiven him as it wasn't his
fault.  That's to be remembered.

Jessica Hope Moffitt, my Granddaughter.  Jessica was born Jan. 20, 2003, and she
passed away March 29, 2010.  She was only 7 y/o.  She had Myotubular Myopathy,
which is a form of Muscular Dystrophy.
Jessica was my 1st Grandchild, so you can only imagine how excited I was.  The day
she was born I was in the delivery room with her Mother and Dad.  Dara Kelly, and
Hughey Moffitt.  I am an RN, so I knew what was going on, and how things were
supposed to be.  When Jessica was born, she never did cry when stimulated.  That was
enough to tell me something was wrong.  I saw the Dr. leave my daughter, and go to the
baby...I was scared.  It didn't take long for them to get her intubated, and on a vent.  She
was eventually transferred from a Mississippi hospital to LeBonheur in Memphis.  They
saved her life!  She had a trach, and PEG tube placed, and they finally after about 2 or
3 months, got her off the vent.  She was able to come home.
We were told by numerous physicians that her life expectancy would be about 4 years.
Heartbreaking to hear that.  She outlived that number by 3 years.  Jessica was never
able to speak, or walk, but she could communicate through sign language.  She truly
had an impact on a lot of people.  Everyone who met her, loved her!  She was very
independent, and tried to play with the other children.
I often would be sad at the thought of what she was thinking, like:  "I wonder why I can't
talk, walk, and run like they all do."  She was very intelligent despite her being special
needs, so I know she wondered.  She went through more in her 7 years, than most will
in a lifetime.  I can't tell you how much time we were in LeBonheur with her.  We actually
felt like permanent fixtures there, and people knew us by name. When she passed
away, I felt like I died with her.  She is most certainly an Angel.  A very strong,
courageous little girl. The only thing that keeps any of us going, is knowing we will see
her again someday.  My daughter grieves for her everyday of her life.

killed instantly. A wonderful brother who

Mark
Mark killed himself on November 6, 2005. It was the most
horrible day of my life, beginning with the police coming to
my door early that morning, and the rest of the day was a
blur and a nightmare. He had gotten divorced, lost his job
because he had to relocate, and maybe there was too
much loss for him to bear. But still I can not fathom it. No
one had any idea he would do something like this. Just
didn't. All I know is he should be here. It should never had
happened. And my heart breaks to this day. In memory of
Mark. For the times you felt alive. Riposa in pace, fratello.
Remember when you were young, and shone like the
sun? Shine on you crazy diamond!
May your spirit soar in freedom
From the fears that gripped so tight.
May you find the peace you searched for
As you wandered, lost, in the night.

May your tortured mind be clear and calm
May you have no need for strength now.
You will never have to worry about another storm.

May the music of the angels
Be the sweet sounds that you hear.
As you’re rocked in Heaven’s cradle
May you never shed another tear.

I love you, I miss you
My little brother…my true friend.
May my love for you reach you
Until we meet again.

He served in the Army Air Corp for 4 years

Jessica Ghawi, 24, was an aspiring sports journalist described by her mother as an energetic woman, "easy to fall in love with." Ghawi survived shootings at a Toronto
mall last month, and later blogged about the experience:

"I was shown how fragile life was on Saturday. I saw the terror on bystanders’ faces. I saw the victims of a senseless crime. I saw lives change. I was reminded that we
don’t know when or where our time on Earth will end. When or where we will breathe our last breath."

Veronica Moser, 6, described as a "vibrant" child who had just learned to swim, was shot along with her mother Ashley Moser in Friday's attack. Ashley Moser remains in
critical condition in the hospital after gunshots to the neck and abdomen. According to the Denver Post, she passes in and out of consciousness asking for Veronica,
unaware of her daughter's death.

John T. Larimer, 27, joined the Navy last year and was stationed at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado.

"I am incredibly saddened by the loss of Petty Officer John Larimer -- he was an outstanding shipmate," Larimer's commanding officer, Cmdr. Jeffrey Jakuboski, said.

Matthew McQuinn, 27, of St. Paris, Ohio, died after diving on top of his girlfriend Samantha Yowler to shield her from bullets. Yowler and her brother survived the attack.

Recent high school graduate Alexander J. Boik, 18, has been described as "the life of the party." He loved softball, movies and hoped to become an art teacher.
According to his girlfriend, Lasamoa Cross, the pair were secretly engaged.

Jesse E. Childress, 29, was also stationed at Buckley Air Force Base as an Air Force reservist. Childress loved sports, the Denver Broncos, comic books and
superhero movies. According to the Denver Post, Childress had recently named his brand new car the "Batmobile."

Jonathan T. Blunk, 26, also died shielding his girlfriend, Jansen Young, from gunfire, pushing her under a seat while shots were being fired. Formerly in the Navy, Blunk
worked at a hardware store in Colorado at the time of the shooting.

Rebecca Wingo, 32, was working toward an associate of arts degree at the Community College of Aurora. Her father Steve Hernandez wrote on his Facebook page, "I
lost my daughter yesterday to a mad man, my grief right now is inconsolable, I hear she died instantly, without pain, however the pain is unbearable."

Alex M. Sullivan was celebrating his 27th birthday at the time of the attack. He died just two days shy of his first wedding anniversary with his wife Cassie on Sunday.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Alex's family has called him their "real life superhero."

Gordon Cowden, 51, went to the midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" with his two teenage children, both of whom survived unharmed.

"He will be remembered for his devotion to his children and for always trying his best to do the right thing, no matter the obstacle," Cowden's family said in a statement.

Micayla Medek, 23, graduated from William C. Hinkley High School in Aurora and had been attending the Community College of Aurora. According to the Los Angeles
Times, Medek was saving up for a trip to India.

A friend described Alexander Teves, 24, as "One of the best men I ever knew. The world isn't as good a place without him." Teves loved Spider-man and his alma mater,
the University of Arizona. He had just earned his master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of Denver.

My parents divorced before I was 1. When I was 21 my mother gave me a card. Inside it simply had a Name, address and phone number. Kena. I looked at my crying
mother with confusion. She said “I have waited for your father to tell you but he has not, So I think it’s time you knew. You have an older half sister, named Kena”. I cried,
for a long time. All the feelings of someone missing my whole life were real. The number nor address were her. We tried the next 7 yrs to find her. Finally I did. I went to her
home (6 hours away) the next weekend. We visited and shared pictures. Went to church. Cried and hugged when I left. Over the next year we emailed and talked daily.
Always promising to make time to see each other again. I had a baby. 1 week before my daughters 1st birthday I got a call that changed my life. Her husband simply said
“I just wanted to let you know Kena passed away about 6 hours ago from complications of Kidney stone surgery, She had a massive heart attack in the hospital bathroom
and never was revived again”. So, a few days later I saw my sister for the second time, in her coffin. I miss her daily. Some days I am bitter at God for taking her from me so
soon after we found each other. Most days I am grateful he let me hold her once before he called her home. Kena, you were a beautiful loving sister, mother and wife. Now,
you are my Angel."

This is Bruce Kevin Clark.
I had known him most of my
life, and we were quite close
when I was about 19 years
old. We lost touch until a few
years ago, when he found
me on Facebook. He sent
me the most lovely letter,
telling me about his life now
(married, kids, in the
army) and telling me how
proud he was of me for who I
had become. He apologized
for hurting my feelings a long
time ago, and even though
that seems like not
much, it meant the world to
me as no one had ever done
that before. We wrote to
each other on Facebook, and
even when he got shipped to
Afghanistan, he always
took time to occasionally
drop me note. I had spoken
to him last on April 25,
2012. He died on April 30,
while on Skype with his wife.
He leaves behind two
small children, a wife, and a
lot of family and friends who
miss him every day.

Jeffrey Roub.
I  met him when I was 10 years old. He worked
with my mother. My parents had
recently divorced and he became my honorary
big brother. He meant the world to
me, and I to him. When I was 12, he moved to las
Vegas, but he sent me pictures,
letters, and packages every day. Before he had
moved he gave me a beautiful
hand carved box to remember him by, I still
have it. No man at that point in my
life had been such a role model, or shown me
such interest. He made my heart
feel important. Again, we lost track of each
other as I grew older and moved
around. In early 2010 I found him on Facebook
and we were both so glad for the
reunion. He was so proud of me and my family,
and I was happy he had finally
found love as well and was engaged. He died
suddenly of a heart attack on Jan. 2, 2011.

Megan Lauren
Well, here it is again....July 26, and it's the 3rd anniversary of the worst day
of my life. Three years ago, I came home from work to find my precious
daughter had ended her life. I had talked with her at lunch time, and she
was in good spirits. I had given her some good news about an upcoming
surgery that was to have helped her condition...her Graves Disease, the root
of this last battle with depression.
Some people have asked if I've ever been angry at her for this, and the
answer is no. I know how long and how hard she fought the terrible battle
with that demon, depression. In fact, I've often said she was the bravest
person I've ever known, and I don't know how she managed to fight as long
as she did. I can't imagine how it would feel to wake up each morning,
fearful that my meds might quit working, and I would end up in some psych
ward, not knowing who I was, nor where, or that my "rock". As she used to
refer to me, might die, and what would happen. So, no...how could I? I
absolutely know she would never have hurt any of us. She was just worn
out, and just couldn't fight anymore.
Actually, the fact is that I'm amazed, and very proud of her
accomplishments. When the Graves Disease attacked her she had...graduated
2nd in her physical therapist assistant class, first student of the term,
passed her boards the first time, and was working in a nursing care rehab
facility...all after battling Bi-Polar for almost 10 years. Although she never
thought she wanted to work with the elderly, in the end, she had the gift of
patience with them and their needs, loved them and took good care of them,
worried about some of them. I had to caution her not to worry too
much...but, of course, one of the things I love most about her...that caring
spirit.
More than words can say, I miss my sweet Meggie. But, I would only wish
her back, if she could be healthy and happy. I saw the look of absolute peace
on her sweet face. Her dad saw it too, and I'm sure it was a gift from
God...that we would know that she's free, and in His care, now. That, along
with the wonderful friends He's brought into my life, brings me much
comfort, and helps me make it from one day to the next.
Every year, I post something about my Megan Lauren, my sweet baby. It's
my way of letting her know how much I love her, miss her and how proud I
am to be her mom. I thank God every day for that gift. And also, to remind
everyone that life is short, and to take every opportunity to let the people
you care about know how much they mean to you...to not take anything for
granted. And, last but certainly not least, that God, and love are what get
you through these dark days.
